Welcome home
October 22, 12:00 noon...Philippines at last. The short flight from Taiwan to the Philippines has been pleasant despite the discomfort I felt on the plane (Eva Airways plane is kind of small so I can't really stretch my legs). When the pilot welcomed us, reality started to sink in....I'm home. The very first sight I had of my country is the old airport (NAIA) and the very beautiful voices of the airport singers welcoming us with a very familiar song "musika ang buhay na aking tinataglay, eto rin ang dahilan kung bat ako naglalakbay". I am amused and felt so welcome. After the immigration, logn wait at the baggage carousel and customs, another reality had kicked me once again..... a different kind of warmth had embraced me. It was the warmness of the weather. It was totally hot and sticky! Lots of people lining up waiting at the sunduan area... I was in a rush to get into the car and head towards the hotel.
As we cruised from NAIA to the hotel, I finally realised I am in the Philippines - the traffic, the people, the noise, the heat, the congestion - they all remind me that I am back.
